Jade Family Farm | Port Royal, PA

At-a-Glance

  • Certified organic produce farm
  • Producer of some of the quirkiest veggies R&R can lay its hands on
  • Family owned & operated

Jade Family Farm grows certified organic vegetables and fruits on seven acres at the foot of the Tuscarora Mountain in Juniata County, PA. Their fertile and well drained fields are bounded by forests on three sides, which results in some lovely scenery and renders them immune from such problems as groundwater contamination and pesticide drift. John and Dana Eisenstein started the farm in 2005 and became organic certified in 2006. Three generations are involved in daily farm operations, including their children and John's father, Jim.

In their own words:

We believe that wholesome, nutritious food is the birthright of all humans — indeed, of all life — and that food works best within a local community and enmeshed in a web of personal relationships.  We take our responsibilities as farmers both seriously and joyfully and are convinced that a small, diversified farm such as ours has a central place in today's world.

Jade's CSA was the first Julia ever participated in, way back in 2008!
