Scroll down for the list of things we’ll have this week!

This past October, during the fall run of Hakurei turnips, I found a recipe the turnips and their greens, posted it on Facebook, and never got around to making it. This spring, when the gorgeous white turnips with their lush green greens appeared again, I thought, “This time I’m going to do it!” And so I set off to re-find the recipe I’d posted and make the dish — which I did.

Sort of. Turns out, the recipe I “re”-found was *not* the one I found and posted last October, which I only just now discovered, as I went looking for my original mention of it. Turns out also, though, that I think the recipe I *did* make looks even better (at least as I made it…).

Here’s the one I made: Glazed Hakurei Turnips. But I did make some adjustments — I only had one bunch of turnips, so I added a bunch of French Breakfast Radishes, and a bunch of Red Radishes to make up the difference. They made a *gorgeous* pink glaze as the color leached out of the radishes. I also added only a single tablespoon of sugar, because I wasn’t trying to make a turnip dessert. Anyway, the result was both beautiful and delicious. While I mostly think that both radishes and Hakureis are best served raw, this was a great alternative way to enjoy them.

Unfortunately, I’ve discovered this after the major flush of all is gone — but we will have Hakureis and both kinds of radishes in some quantity this week, so if you want to try it for yourself, I think this is the week to do it!
